The League of Chicago Theatres to Open Hot Tix Booth at Square Roots Festival

By:

The League of Chicago Theatres is announcing a pop-up Hot Tix booth at the Square Roots Festival in Lincoln Square July 8-10, 2016. The pop-up booth will be the first of its kind for the discount ticketing program.

Hot Tix offers half-price tickets to more than 200 Chicago area theatres for the current week as well as future performances. This weekend only, Square Roots festival attendees will be able to buy discount theatre tickets in-person in their neighborhood. Half-price tickets will be available to shows such as Broadway In Chicago's The SpongeBob Musical, American Blues Theater's Little Shop of Horrors, Xanadu at American Theater Company, This at Windy City Playhouse, Between Riverside and Crazy at Steppenwolf Theatre, and more.

The League of Chicago Theatres operates three regular Hot Tix half-price walk-up locations: across from the Chicago Cultural Center at Expo 72 (72 E. Randolph); in the Water Works building (163 E. Pearson); and the first floor of Block Thirty Seven at the Guest Services desk. Half-price tickets are also available through Hot Tix online at www.HotTix.org.

Hot Tix is a service of the non-profit League of Chicago Theatres, an alliance of theatres which leverages its collective strength to promote, support, and advocate for Chicago's theatre industry locally, nationally, and internationally.

"For more than 35 years, the League of Chicago Theatres has been operating Hot Tix for its members. The proceeds of the sales stay in the community. Any profit is used for programs to benefit our member theatres," says League of Chicago Theatres Executive Director Deb Clapp. "Hot Tix makes tickets available to Chicago theatergoers for a great price, and we are excited to make the program even more accessible to new audiences this weekend in Lincoln Square."
