The Dance COLEctive and Lara Miller to Host Fashion Benefit, 9/29

The Dance COLEctive (TDC) and fashion designer Lara Miller are teaming up for an evening of fashion and philanthropy Saturday, September 29 at 6 p.m. at Starbright Dance Academy in Chicago.

Guests spend an evening with Lara Miller and have the opportunity to purchase her eco-friendly designs from her trunk show. A percentage of the evening’s sales will benefit The Dance COLEctive, launching its 17th season of contemporary dance. Guests who bring a piece of new or gently used business casual clothing to donate to Dress for Success, a nonprofit organization that provides interview suits, confidence boosts and career development to low-income women, receive a free gift.

Formed in March 1996, The Dance COLEctive aspires to challenge assumptions about how dance is presented, through the use of cutting-edge choreography, innovative collaborations and inspired creative site-specific works. TDC’s vision is to become one of Chicago’s premier dance ensembles, recognized for its compelling, socially relevant and inspiring choreography. In fulfilling its mission and vision, TDC embraces collaboration as a core element of its creative process; values the athleticism, grace, power and strength of its dancers; and nurtures and promotes the creativity of emerging artists.
