The 2011 Naomi Wallace season continues with... The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek Directed by Jonathan Berry July 21 - September 4, 2011 at the Greenhouse Theater Center.

"a well written play that engages the viewer on both conscience and much deeper planes. It has the power to haunt the thoughts and dreams of its audience long after they leave" - British Theatre Guide

Set against the backdrop of a small American town hit hard by the Great Depression, The Trestle at Pope lick Creek explores the lives of two teenagers who find solace high atop a railroad trestle that spans a bone dry creek, planning to race across the bridge against an oncoming locomotive. Their experiences, dawning sexuality and adolescent confusion awakens dangerous passions in an era of stifled ambitions. With theatrical flourish, humor and lyrical finesse, Naomi Wallace delves into a world where people struggle to change lives that bear down upon them.

Renowned Chicago director Jonathan Berry makes his Eclipse Theatre directorial debut. Berry recently directed the critically acclaimed and sold-out run of Festen for Steep Theatre and will make his New York debut this fall with Suicide Incorporated at Roundabout Theatre Company's underground series.
