Suzanne Petri Stars In Dietrich Tribute Benefit for American Blues Theater

Chicago's acclaimed Jefferson Award nominated actress, winner of the After Dark Award for "Outstanding Cabaret Artist" and one of the genres nationally celebrated performers, Suzanne Petri stars in her one-woman tribute to screen legend Marlene Dietrich. Marlene Muzik: A Tribute to Marlene Dietrich the Actress, the Music, the Desire in a benefit for the American Blues Theater to be performed one night only at Katerina's, 1920 W Irving Park, Chicago.on Wednesday, February 24 at 8pm.

Highlighting Petri's sultry and unique theatrical styling that the Chicago Sun Times has called "perfection," the concert is a tour de force for Petri and a showcase of her performing versatility, where she takes her listeners on an eclectic and enjoyable musical journey. With Bob Moreen serving as musical director, Chicago's cabaret darling will be performing such Dietrich classics as Boys In the Backroom, Falling In Love Again and Jonny, which were also featured on her recently released debut studio CD Das Grand Tour. From stage to TV, from nightclubs to concert halls such as New York's Lincoln Center, Suzanne Petri has established herself as one of the Windy City's premier entertainers. Suzanne has performed to SRO crowds at some of the Chicago area's top stages including Park West, Drury Lane/Water Tower, Davenport's, Maxim's, Cyrano's Bistro and Toulouse on the Park. The nationally recognized cabaret diva, Suzanne has been featured at the ASCAP and Chicago Humanities Festival Concerts and the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Conventions in New York City and Chicago. Her one-woman cabaret shows have won rave reviews and critical acclaim including several "Ten Best Shows of the Year" citations by both After Dark Chicago and Cabaret Hotline Online.
A true Renaissance artist, the Jefferson Award nominated performer has appeared in acclaimed stage productions such as Zorba; motion pictures such as Milwaukee, Minnesota with Bruce Dern and Randy Quaid, Disney's Just Visiting with Christina Applegate and Penniless: One Man's Crusade; TV roles on the CBS series Early Edition, the USA Network's film Evil Has A Face with Sean Young and the Entertainment Channel's A Christmas Carol. Ms. Petri has also performed in numerous commercials and voice overs for Chevy, General Mills, Pizza Hut and Nokia.

Her stage performances are vast and also include Twelfth Night at the Goodman Theatre; Eugene O'Neill's The Hairy Ape, The Three Penny Opera and One Day Only at the American Theater Company and The Shoemaker's Holiday at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.
