February 1 - Strawdog Presents The Phone Book

Strawdog Theatre Company has created the event of the season. We know people with so much talent, charisma and charm that you'd watch them read the phonebook. So that's just what this is. An evening of top talents presenting their interpretation of the phone book. Music, improv, performance art, and the unexpected.

2. Strawdog Opens Uncle Vanya (pre-production photos available)
The Press/Opening Night is Sunday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m Strawdog Theatre Company continues their 22nd season with Curt Columbus' translation of Anton Chekhov's classic Uncle Vanya, directed by Strawdog Artistic Associate Kimberly Senior. Chekhov's classic about country gentlemen's forbidden love for his brother's beautiful wife gets a smoldering translation from former Steppenwolf Associate Artistic Director and current Artistic Director of Trinity Rep Curt Columbus. "Uncle Vanya" runs about two hours with one intermission. Feb. 19 - March 27 at Strawdog Theatre Company, 3829 No. Broadway. Tickets are currently on sale for $10-$40. STRAWDOG THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES "STRAWDOG LATE NIGHT PRESENTS" SERIES
Performances follow Strawdog's Uncle Vanya in the Hugen Hall Cabaret, February 19 - March 27, 2010.

CHICAGO - Strawdog Theatre Company is proud to announce the "Strawdog Late Night Presents" series in the Hugen Hall Cabaret at Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N. Broadway Street, Feb. 19 - March 27, immediately following weekend performances of Curt Columbus' translation of Uncle Vanya. "Strawdog Late Night Presents" is an affordable, sometimes free, outlet for Chicago's diverse and talented theater and music performers to have a venue for debuting new work, perfecting a script or just being seen on stage by an audience. Performances and ticket prices vary from week to week.

TRUST US: THIS IS ALL MADE UP?
The New York Times describes this film's content as "Second City-seasoned masters of long form improv", TJ Jagodowski and David Pasquesi have become living legends in their field. Exploring the trust that underlies their relationship and the forces that govern their improvisation, Trust Us, This is All Made Up is a portrait of two remarkably talented friends and features an unforgettable live performance recorded on film at New York's Barrow Street Theater.

Theatre Wars
Strawdog ensemble member and host of "The Game Show Show and Stuff" Anderson Lawfer and the lovely Jennifer Santanello are the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies for this survey-style game show featuring four Chicago Theatre companies. Strawdog Ensemble Member Mikhail Fiksel (DJ White Russian) spins and Ensemble Member Hank Boland directs.?

The Roast of Kimberly Senior
Strawdog Theatre Company once again rounds up the Chicago Theatre Community to take a poke at one of their own. Tonight we bring to the spit Kimberly Senior (director of Strawdog's Uncle Vanya, Red Twist's PillowMan, Timeline's All My Sons, must we continue?) There's sure to be an all-star cast assembled tonight to knock the wind out of Senior's sails. The night can get a little rough, leave your kids at home for this one. Hosted by Strawdog Ensemble Member Anderson Lawfer.

A collection of strange and entertaining public domain educational films from the 40's through the 70's for the amusement and edification of the audience presented by Hank Boland. MST3K meets educational films and reasonably priced drinks. Program begins at 11:00 pm and lasts approximately ninety minutes with an intermission.

Variety Underground
There's nothing like an old-fashioned vaudeville style variety show, and this is nothing like an old-fashioned vaudeville style variety show, or is it? Join Ensemble Members Kyle Hamman and Justine Turner along with Allison Latta and others as they continually (and hilariously) struggle to put together a variety show. Directed by Ensemble Member Carmine Grisolia and Hosted by Strawdog ensemble member Hank Boland.?

Join us for another Game Show offering from the mind of Ensemble Member Anderson Lawfer. We all know what you get when you combine Music and Chairs, but when you add Anderson Lawfer into the mix, there's no telling what you'll get. This audience participation game show, hosted by Eric Roach and Ann Sonneville gives you the chance to compete against other audience members for a little limelight and a lot of valueless prizes. An evening filled with music, chairs, and fun.

Wrap up the run of our main stage show and experience a hilarious Strawdog tradition of ensemble members sending up every production with an affectionate puppet version.
