Stamos, Olivo, Lansbury and More Named As The Live Theater Winners of the 2009-2010 Golden Icon Awards

The Help First Foundation has announced the Live Theater winners of the 2009-2010 Golden Icon Awards.

Best Actor in a Musical honors went to John Stamos for his performance in the Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie while Geoffrey Rush won Best Actor in a Play for his Broadway performance in Exit the King.

Best Actress in a Musical honors went to Karen Olivio from the Broadway revival of West Side Story while veteran actress Angela Lansbury picked up Best Actress in a Play honors for her turn in the Broadway production of Blithe Spirit.

Best Musical honors went to the Broadway production of Memphis, while the Las Vegas company of Tony n' Tina's Wedding took home the award for Best Play.

Broadway veteran Neil Patrick Harris (Proof, Assassins, Cabaret) won Best Actor in a Comedy honors in the television awards for his work on How I Met Your Mother.

The Golden Icon Awards were presented by Travolta Family Entertainment from 1993-2007 before being transferred to the authority of the Help First Foundation in 2008.
