In celebration of its 20th Season, Shattered Globe Theatre Company will be presenting a staged reading of Judgment at Nuremberg at The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center and full productions of Orpheus Descending and Her Naked Skin at Stage 773 in Chicago.

The Judgment at Nuremberg staged reading will take place at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie on Sunday, January 15 at 12:15pm. The original production, considered one of Shattered Globe’s “Greatest Hits,” ran for 4 months and the new reading boasts many of the original cast reprising their roles.

Orpheus Descending, opening February 10 marks Shattered Globe’s first production at their new space in Stage 773 at 1225 West Belmont. Directed by guest Artist Julieanne Ehre, Orpheus Descending is Tennessee Williams’ modern version of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, telling the story of a young charismatic drifter who wanders into a repressed Southern town and begins a romance with a lonely woman. The season concludes in with the Midwest premiere of Her Naked Skin opening May 3 at Stage 773. Directed by Shattered Globe’s Artistic Director Roger Smart, Her Naked Skin is set during the British women’s suffrage movement and centers around the love-affair of two suffragettes fighting for the right to vote.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to present one of our favorite plays at the Illinois Holocaust Museum,” says Artistic Director Roger Smart. “It is a wonderful way to start the New Year and is a great addition to the 20th anniversary season as we continue with Orpheus Descending and Her Naked Skin. Each play considers the lives and struggles of women in aggressively male societies, placing them within a historical context.”

Judgment at Nuremberg will be presented as a staged reading at The Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center in Skokie on Sunday January 15th at 12:15pm. The cost will be $14 for the public and $6 for Museum Members. Museum admission is included and tickets can be purchased online. ILHM tells the story of the Holocaust through richly designed, interactive exhibitions that will both move and inspire you.
