Remy Bumppo Theatre Company is pleased to announce that Ian Frank will take on the nonprofit professional theatre company's new role of Associate Artistic Director.

"I am more than pleased to have Ian Frank assume his new title of Associate Artistic Director and also become the latest addition to our New Group of Associate Artists," says Producing Artistic Director, Nick Sandys, "For four seasons, Ian has been an invaluable colleague, forthright and diligent, and devoted to asking tough, mission-based questions that move this company forward. His role has exponentially expanded and his input has proven extremely valuable, not only at the staff level, but with artists, production staff, and our patrons. And, of course, he has also shown his artistic mettle for the company with his monstrously successful production of Frankenstein."

As the Associate Artistic Director, Frank will facilitate the day-to-day artistic components of the theatre, working with all departments and constituencies to execute the best possible administrative and production processes for the company. He will act as Remy Bumppo's Company Manager on productions, oversee the company's selection of classes for industry professionals and theatre lovers, and act as producer of the SPARK Reading Series.

"Working every day at this level is a privilege which I do not take lightly," said Frank. "I'm so thrilled to take on this new role and continue the work we've done at Remy Bumppo over the last four seasons exploring, enriching, and expanding what think theatre means to Chicago not just today, but into the future."

Remy Bumppo Theatre Company is an ensemble based theatre company that believes in the power and beauty of language, the emotional effects of timeless ideas, and conversation as an agent of change. As our motto think theatre suggests, the plays we produce will make you think - actively - about the complex issues we face as people, as a community, and as humankind.

Since its inception in 1996, the Company has produced a blend of modern classics, new adaptations, and complex contemporary works, all presented in an intimate setting with clarity, wit and passion. We invite audiences to engage directly with the art through conversation with the artists.
