Red Tape Theatre presents the apocalyptic comedy Tragedy: a tragedy by Will Eno, author of the Pulitzer Prize-finalist play THOM PAIN (based on nothing). The sun has set over streets, houses, government buildings and backyards everywhere. The world is dark. A news team is on the scene. Nobody knows if the sun, once down, will ever rise again. But there is a witness, and the witness will speak. This uniquely staged event is directed by acclaimed Chicago director Jeremy Wechsler

Will Eno, Playwright
Will Eno's plays include THE FLUE SEASON, KID BLANCO, KING: A PROBLEM PLAY, THOM PAIN (BASED ON NOTHING) and, most recently, an adaptation of Ibsen's PEER GYNT. Charles Isherwood called Eno "a Samuel Beckett for the Jon Stewart generation". THOM PAIN (BASED ON NOTHING) was a finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer Prize in Drama. His play MIDDLETOWN will have its world premiere at Steppenwolf Theatre in June. Will has received fellowships from the Guggenheim and the Edward F. Albee Foundations, and has been a Helen Merrill Playwriting Fellow.

Jeremy Wechsler is working his way through Will Eno's canon, having directed the Chicago premieres of THOM PAIN (BASED ON NOTHING) (Jeff award, Theater Wit) and THE FLU SEASON (Black Sheep Productions). He is the artistic director of Theater Wit where he has directed THIS (Melissa James Gibson), THE FOUR OF US (Itamar Moses), SPIN (Penny Penniston), FEYDEAU-SI-DEAU (Georges Feydeau), MEN OF STEEL (Qui Nguyen), TWO FOR THE SHOW (James Fitzpatrick and Will Clinger) and THE SANTALAND DIARIES (David Sedaris and Joe Mantello). His productions have been nominated for and won multiple awards for design, performance, adaptation and best new work.
