Provision Theater Company Presents THE FOREIGNER, Opening 2/4

Provision Theater Company at 1001 West Roosevelt Road in Chicago will be producing THE FOREIGNER by Larry Shue. Directed by Timothy Gregory, THE FOREIGNER opens February 4 at 8 p.m. and runs through March 18. The show will run every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. (Previews are Feb. 1, 2, and 3 at 8 p.m.).  Ticket prices range from $10 - $30 and includes free parking.  Groups of 10 or more receive 10% off. For reservations, phone 866-811-4111 or visit www.provisiontheater.org

In THE FOREIGNER, Larry Shue's hilarious farce, Charlie Baker - a proof reader by day and a boring husband by night - adopts the persona of a foreigner who doesn’t understand English. When others begin to speak freely around him, he not only becomes privy to secrets both dangerous and frivolous, he also discovers an adventurous extrovert within himself.

“This is an incredibly funny play that asks the question, ‘What would we say if we thought no one was listening?" says Director, Timothy Gregory, adding, “It also touches on themes of prejudice, insecurity, and the struggle to achieve self-awareness and self-actualization."

THE FOREIGNER is written by Larry Shue and directed by Provision Theater’s Artistic Director, Timothy Gregory. The play stars Rod Armentrout (Charlie), Glory Kissel (Betty), Chris Amos (David), Brit Cooper Robinson (Catherine), Colin Wasmund (Owen),  Michael Perez (Froggy), and Alex Goodrich (Ellard). Understudies are Jason Love and Nathan Grant.

THE FOREIGNER is stage managed by Matthew McMullen and includes Inseung Park as Scenic Designer, Liz Meenan as Costume Designer, Marly Wooster as Lighting Designer, Jeff Shields as Props Master, Ashley Woods as Scenic Painter, and Joe Dybdal as Technical Director.
