Porchlight Music Theatre today announced its annual benefit concert, Chicago Sings featuring the music of Broadway Icon Jerry Herman, Monday, June 18 at 7 p.m. at Mayne Stage, 1328 West Morse Ave.

This one-night-only celebration, now in its seventh year, created by Porchlight Music Theatre Artistic Associates Rob Lindley and Doug Peck, features performances of Herman’s music by Chicago musical theatre stars, and is hosted by Lindley with Peck on piano. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door and may be ordered at 773.777.9884 or porchlightmusictheatre.org.

Chicago Sings Jerry Herman includes hits, Tony Award-winners and hidden gems from the Herman catalog including songs from Mame, Hello Dolly, La Cage Aux Folles, Parade and much more. The performers for this night are a “who’s who” of Chicago’s best performers mixed with rising stars on the scene including Sean Blake, E. Faye Butler, Joan Curto, Rebecca Finnegan, Heidi Kettenring, Ross Lehman, Tom Michael, Johanna Mckenzie Miller, Meghan Murphy, Peggy Roeder and Bethany Thomas with more talent being added daily.

The performers, under Peck’s direction, perform the songs in traditional formats, as well as new takes on beloved Herman classics. Some magical musical moments exclusively at Chicago Sings Jerry Herman are Rob Lindley and Sean Blake’s take on "Bosom Buddies" from Mame, Rebecca Finnegan providing a sneak-peak of what her Dolly Levi may look like with "So Long Dearie" and E. Faye Butler's unique arrangement of the title song from Mame.
