Photo Flash: Meet the Cast of Pride Films and Plays' THE BOY FROM OZ

The Boy From Oz, presented by Pride Films and Plays, will be directed by David Zak, with musical direction by Robert Ollis and choreography by Cameron Turner. The musical previews Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6, with a press opening slated for Friday, August 7 at 7:30. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in costume below!

The Boy From Oz tells the amazing life story of celebrated songwriter and performer Peter Allen. Featuring songs by Peter Allen, book by Martin Sherman and Nick Enright, Direction by David Zak, Musical Direction by Robert Ollis, and Choreography by Cameron Turner, The Boy From Oz tells the exuberant yet heart-warming true story of a young Australian boy who loved to perform and ended up in the glamorous orbit of Judy Garland and her soon-to-be famous daughter Liza.

Chris Logan (Bailiwick Chicago's Murder Ballad) plays Peter Allen, with cabaret star Nancy Hays as Judy Garland, and Michelle Lauto (Murder Ballad) as Liza Minnelli. Luke Meierdiercks (PFP's The Book of Merman) plays his lover Greg, with Michelle McKenzie-Voigt (The Glass Protégé, Glitterati) as Peter's mother Marion, and 13-year-old Garrett Hershey as young Peter.

The ensemble includes Liz Bollar, Frankie DiCiaccio, Gilbert Domally, Zach Drane, Kiersten Frumkin, David Kaplinsky, Cassie Nelson, Elissa Newcorn, Amanda Newman, Sydney Sarah Stier, Brad Sennffner, and Wade Tischhauser.

The production team includes John Nasca (Costume Design), Katie-Bell Stringmann (Set Design), Cat Wilson (Lighting Design), G. Max Maxin IV (Video Design), and Kailee Tomasic (Props). Jordan Fleming is the Production Stage Manager. Assistant directors include Charlie Marie McGrath, Cody Schmidt, and Christopher Young.

Regular performances are Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 5 through August 30 only. Tickets are $25 Wednesday, $30 Thursdays and $40 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Seniors can save $5 per ticket. For tickets call Stage 773 (773-327-5252) or order online at stage773.com.
