The Stanley Cup officially took a "Shrekcation" to the annual Broadway In Chicago Concert at the Taste of Chicago. While there cast members from participating acts were able to see Chicago's pride and joy, but none were happier than Eric Petersen, a native Chicagoan that will star as Shrek in the First National Tour of SHREK THE MUSICAL premiering in Chicago on July 13! The Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning SHREK THE MUSICAL tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren't only found in fairy tales. SHREK THE MUSICAL launches its national tour in Chicago at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St., for a limited engagement beginning July 13 - September 5, 2010.
