One Woman Show BETTE DAVIS AINT FOR SISSIES Returns Jessica Sherr is proud to announce she is returning to Chicago with a limited engagement of her smash hit one-woman show Bette Davis Ain't for Sissies, May 24 - June 17, at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. Created and performed by Sherr, the 5-star reviewed show now includes additional scenes, as Sherr was commissioned by the Athenaeum Theatre to expand her solo performance after her 4-week run in Chicago June 2017. Sherr has also performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, at The St. James in London, had a sold-out off-Broadway run at 59E59 Theaters and toured performing arts centers throughout the United States. Opening night is Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. Performances are Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. with matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $26 - $36 and available at AthenaeumTheatre.org. To welcome Jessica Sherr, the star of Bette Davis Ain't for Sissies, there will be a meet and greet Wednesday, May 23 from 7 - 9 p.m. at 850 N. Lakeshore Drive, The Lake Room. Complimentary food and drink will be available.

It's the 1939 Academy Awards and the Los Angeles Times have leaked the winners early: Bette Davis will lose to Vivien Leigh. With newspaper in hand, Davis decides to leave the awards ceremony early. Once at home, Davis, disillusioned and frustrated; now grapples with memories of past lovers, confidants and mentors. She experiences what happens when someone who always wins...loses. Bette Davis Ain't for Sissies offers audiences a rare insight into the mind of one of Hollywood's greatest stars and her fight against ageism, male dominance and the plight of Hollywood on woman. With humor and unabashed frankness Sherr journeys into Bette Davis' battle to win freedom from the grip and control of the Hollywood studio moguls, studio executives, and her mother Ruthie in a "dynamic performance" that is "mesmerizing to watch" (Edinburgh Guide) and "worthy of an Oscar" (Mumble Theater). ABOUT JESSICA SHERR, Creator and Performer

Jessica Sherr is "A Bright Comedic Energy" (Chicago Reader) grew up in San Diego, California. Sherr recently was seen on "Blue Bloods" (CBS) opposite Donnie Wahlberg. Her film "One, Two, Guess Who is Who" directed by Italian director, Lorenzo Faccenda, recently screened at The London International Filmmaker Festival and has won Best Feature Film at New York Film Awards and Best Foreign Feature at The Los Angeles Independent Film Awards. Sherr was the face of Fruit by the Foot and had a two year National Campaign for Aquafresh. She also finished a 6-part industrial for Pricewaterhouse Coopers. She is a certified personal trainer and holds her New York Real Estate License. Sherr is married to actor Douglas Schneider and they live in New Jersey.
