Oak Tree Restaurant & Bakery Celebrates Over 40 Years of Chicago Tradition

Oak Tree Restaurant & Bakery, on Level 6 of 900 North Michigan Shops, has been a family-owned and operated Gold Coast eatery for over 40 years, frequented by loyal area residents, workers, tourists and celebrities, as well as a neighborhood spot where many power breakfasts have reigned. Oak Tree, which recently underwent a more than $3 million makeover, showcases a spacious, contemporary earth tone dining room that overlooks Michigan Avenue and comfortably seats 250 guests.Using only the freshest ingredients and preparation, all dishes are made from scratch daily. Breakfast Anytime
Breakfast is served from opening until closing, every day of the week. Favorites including homemade omelets, served with hash browns and toast, and include: Asparagus, Cheddar & Onion; Spinach, Mushroom & Tomato; and Glazed Ham, Cheddar & Scallion. Other specialties include Belgian Waffle, Brioche French Toast, Granola & Banana Pancakes, Candied Georgian Pecan Waffles, Corned Beef Hash, an exquisite presentation of Seasonal Fruit & Yogurt and House-Cured Salmon. Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, Cucumber-Lime Cooler and Fresh Fruit Smoothies are among the delightful quenchers.

Sandwiches
There are over 30 innovative as well as traditional sandwiches, which include Oak Tree's 10 signature Epicurean Toasted-Cheese sandwiches: Apple & Brie, Watercress, Havarti & Fig Preserves; Ham & Gruyère, Arugula, Mozzarella & Grilled Onion; and Goat Cheese & Grilled Vegetables, Balsamic Reduction. Other warm and cold varieties include an Old Fashioned, Fabulous Burger; the best Corned Beef in town; Turkey Club; as well as a tasty Tarragon Chicken Salad... and add not-to-be-missed hand-cut French Fries.

Soups
Oak Tree is famous for its Oak Street Chicken with noodles or rice. Others that hit the mark include a hearty Eight Bean, spicy Turkey Chili and oh-so-flavorful Tuscan Vegetable.

Salads
Oak Tree has an imaginative array of over 20 salads. These include: Windy City Chop, Salad Nicoise, Duck Breast Salad, Maple Broiled Salmon, Spicy Grilled Shrimp, Chicken Chin Chin, Charred Sea Scallops and Warm Spinach Salad, to name just a few. All salad dressings are homemade every day, such as Poppy Seed, Mustard Chutney, Sweet Wasabi, Creamy Raspberry and Dijon Vinaigrette.

A fresh to-go bakery counter features a plethora of cookies, cakes, pastries and baguette sandwiches, all baked on the premises. Oak Tree's Artisan Breads (weighing up to 2 pounds) include: Asiago Onion Garlic, Caraway Rye, Country White, Foccacia, French Flute, Honey Wheat, Sourdough Boulé, Jalapeno Cheddar, Kalamata Sourdough, Onion Pumpernickel, Potato Cheddar, Raisin Pumpernickel, Sourdough, Onion Scallion Rye and Cinnamon Sugar Raisin.
