"Princess Power," a music concert celebrating Disney princess songs, will be performed at Northwestern University, 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2 and 2 p.m. Sunday, August 3.

This magical afternoon performance will delight Disney-lovers of all ages with a cast of 12 singing songs from movies such as "Cinderella," "Snow White," "The Little Mermaid" and the recent smash-hit "Frozen."

Performances will take place at the Ethel M. Barber Theatre, 30 Arts Circle Drive, on the Evanston campus. It is part of Imagine U, 2014 SummerStage Season at Northwestern University's Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts (formerly known as the Theatre and Interpretation Center).

"Over the past 60 years, strong Disney princesses have come to represent a rainbow of cultural backgrounds and show young people that they can take charge of their lives and not sit and wait for their dreams to come true," said Imagine U producing director Jim Davis. "Why not enjoy the beauty and power of these popular songs with live music and the talented voices of our Northwestern University theatre students?"

Geoff Button, who received his MFA in theatre directing from Northwestern, is directing the show with music direction by recent Northwestern graduate Katie Willey.

Tickets are $10 for children under the age of 12 and $15 for all others. To purchase tickets call the Wirtz Center Box Office at 847-491-7282 or online at www.wirtz.northwestern.edu.
