MARY POPPINS Enters Last Five Weeks Of Run At Cadillac Palace Theatre, Ends 7/12

By:

Only five weeks remain to see MARY POPPINS before the "east wind" takes her away. Entertaining thousands of theater-goers in Chicago since launching its National Tour in Chicago on March 11, 2009, MARY POPPINS will play through July 12, 2009 only at the Cadillac Palace Theatre.

It's not too late to enjoy this magical Broadway hit this summer. Families can celebrate Father's Day on Sunday, June 21 by planning a special day downtown with Dad; two performances, 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., are scheduled for June 21. Chicagoans, theater-goers and visitors still have time to plan a "Jolly Holiday" with MARY POPPINS this summer, including Fourth of July weekend, with great seats still available on Fridays and Saturdays for the final five weeks.

MARY POPPINS features the two original Broadway stars, Ashley Brown as "Mary Poppins" and Gavin Lee as "Bert." A co-production by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, this stage production is based on P.L. Travers' cherished stories and the classic 1964 Walt Disney film. The show includes the Academy Award®-winning music and lyrics of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The stage production has been created, in collaboration with Cameron Mackintosh, by Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes, who has written the book, and the Olivier Award-winning team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, who have composed new songs and additional music and lyrics.

The performance schedule is Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Performances for Fourth of July Weekend are Saturday, July 4 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sunday, July 5 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. No performance will take place on Friday, July 3. Tuesday performances have been added on June 30 and July 7 at 7:30 p.m. There will not be a 6:30 p.m. Sunday performance on July 12.

Ticket prices range from $25 to $90. Premium Ticket Packages, which include prime seat locations and a commemorative souvenir program, are available and range in price from $125 to $150. Tickets are available at all Broadway In Chicago Box Offices (24 W. Randolph St., 151 W. Randolph St. and 18 W. Monroe St.); the Broadway In Chicago Ticket Line at (312) 902-1400; all Ticketmaster retail locations (including Hot Tix and select Carson Pirie Scott, Coconuts and fye stores); and online at www.BroadwayInChicago.com.
