Lincoln Park To Host Free, Family-Friendly Tree Lighting Ceremony NEWCITY, in Lincoln Park, will be hosting one of the first events in Chicago this holiday season. At the third annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 10 from 6 - 8 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy the musical stylings of The International British School Choir and the Old Town School of Folk Music Women's Choir. Alderman Burnett will ceremoniously light the 30 ft. tree at 6:30 p.m. and children of all ages will be able to tell their holiday wishes to Santa. Families can enjoy balloon artist creations, face painting, crafts and other activities, win prizes and participate in giveaways while indulging in cookies and hot chocolate at the free event at 1457 North Halsted Street.

"We are excited to kick off the holiday season with our third annual Tree Lighting Ceremony," said NEWCITY General Manager Jennifer Wojcik. "We are especially thrilled to showcase the incredible talent of two local choirs whose members are a vibrant part of our community. Guests are invited to visit NEWCITY throughout the holidays to spend time with friends and family and shop for all their gift giving needs."
