Goodman Theatre's Playwrights Unit Presents Staged Readings, 6/15-17
In June, Goodman Theatre presents four free staged readings developed as part of the Playwrights Unit, the Goodman's season-long residency program for playwrights who meet once a month to discuss their plays in progress.
The readings include The Solid Sand Below by Martín Zimmerman (June 15), Work of Art by Elaine Romero (June 16), Stutter by Philip Dawkins (June 16) and For Her as a Piano byNambi E. Kelley (June 17). Playing an essential role in the Goodman's efforts to commission and develop new works for the American theater, the Playwrights Unit continues the Goodman's tradition of fostering new work such as American Buffalo,Seven Guitars, Spinning Into Butter and Ruined, and is facilitated by Tanya Palmer, director of new play development.
All FREE readings take place in the Polk Rehearsal Room; reservations are required and can be made by calling 312.443.3800 or visiting GoodmanTheatre.org.
