On March 26th, The Flaming Dames shed their anything-but-mild-mannered alter-egos to bring your adolescent fantasies to life in "Nerdlesque", a send up to the classic comic book, sci-fi beauties that most fan-boys have only dreamed of, on the stage at The Spot, located in the heart of Uptown. With the help of hosts, Uber-Nerd JangoFett69 and frat-meathead Randy, and appearances by some of the most famous heroines and sci-fi foxes ever committed to comic book and screen, the Dames promise a night of dreams come true for the 12 year old kid in all of us.

In addition to Friday nights at The Spot, the Dames will be performing "Nerdlesque" in conjunction with the C2E2 Comic Book Convention April 16 - 17 with a full length performance scheduled at Reggie's Rock Room and a teaser performance at the Double Door as a part of a special NerdCityOnline.com event. Throw in "The Dames Storm Division" at Finn McCool's, plus multiple appearances with some of the city's hottest burlesque acts, and you're left with Chicago's most active burlesque troupe-and a group of ladies doing burlesque unlike any other in the city.

When it comes to burlesque in Chicago, The Flaming Dames have been pioneers since they started performing in 2003. In the midst of an ever-growing Chicago burlesque scene, The Flaming Dames, the city's premier concept burlesque troupe, continue to make their mark with hit revues and partnerships with some of the Midwest's hottest burlesque acts. The ladies are even digging into the famous Division Street nightlife with "The Dames Storm Division," a greatest hits revue at Finn McCool's starting March 20. The show consists of some of the best routines from previous shows tied together with comedy material performed by Crotchy McLabia, Flaming Dames veteran Rebecca Miller, and special guest star Backdoor Aly of Variatease Burlesque. The Dames continue to contribute their signature style to the locally-based Vaudezilla Productions, and will also appear at Debonair Social Club in Wicker Park in May.

The Flaming Dames Creator Leslie Kerrigan thinks, "What sets The Flaming Dames' burlesque apart from other burlesque is that our productions are exactly that-productions. They're big, fully produced spectacles that have a solid foundation in traditional theatre. However, the highly choreographed group numbers and comedy that have become our trademark are specifically designed to make you forget you're ‘watching theatre'. We're diabolically entertaining."

Nerdlesque Director Mercedes Rohlfs says, "Directing this sexy rampage of nerd-nostalgia has been a total treat for my fantasy-life taste buds. Whether you're a Trekkie, Jedi-master, 80's cartoon purist, Buffy addict, or really anything in between, you will experience something you love in this show."

Following their recent hit Mardi Gras revue, "Bourbon Street Burlesque", "Nerdlesque" and "The Dames Storm Division" continue New Millennium Theatre Company's 2010 season and are the 15th and 16th Dames productions. But these just scratch the surface in 2010 for one of Chicago's most prolific burlesque troupes. After "Nerdlesque" the Dames get back to work on two new revues. Seasonal fans can prepare for another roundup of Halloween/Holiday themed productions. In between, the ladies expect to continue collaborating with the rest of the Chicago burlesque community. The Flaming Dames are no strangers to keeping busy having staged more than 10 new productions in the last three years and performing at events sponsored by Yelp.com, Camel Cigarettes, and Getty Images, in addition to appearing regularly at local and regional festivals like the Detroit Dirty Show, the Flashback Horror Drive-In Weekend, (Motley)Crue Fest, and Literally Sexy.

The Flaming Dames in "The Dames Storm Division " will be playing March 20, April 3, May 1, 15, 29, and June 12, 26 at Finn McCool's 15 W. Division Street in Chicago and tickets are $15. For more information on Finn McCool's contact 312-337-4349.

The Flaming Dames in" Nerdlesque" runs Friday nights at 10:15 pm March 26 through May 7 (NO PERFORMANCE AT THE SPOT ON APRIL 16). Special Event Performances to be held on April 16 - 17 and all other performances are at The Spot, 4437 N. Broadway in Chicago.
