First YIPPIE FEST Headed to Prop Thtr This August

By:
The first YIPPIE FEST, a continuous, live theater festival in the spirit of the Abbie Hoffman Died for Our Sins Festival (which closed last year after 28 years at the Mary-Arrchie Theatre) will take place for three days/nights on two stages during the same traditional weekend celebrating the anniversary of the Woodstock Nation - August 18th-20th, 2017 - at the Prop Thtr, 3502 North Elston Avenue in Chicago.

The website at YippieFest.com is now open, and applications are being accepted for works of theater, music, comedy, puppetry, dance, performance art, film and more. All acts will be considered, ranging in timing from 10-50 minutes. The theater portion is open to original works, experimental or scene revivals. DEADLINE for applications is July 18th.

The website includes a pre-sale of tickets for the festival, with early purchasers receiving the discount price of $20 for the weekend, and $10 for individual nights ($25/$15 at the door). The festival will feature a theater bar, with specials throughout the weekend. The founders of YIPPIE FEST are stoked to take on the Spirit Legacy of the long-running Abbie Hoffman Festival, and open the Prop Thtr doors to a new perception, and performance happening.
