Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce that Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage will extend its Chicago engagement to January 17, 2009.  Tickets for the newly announced performances from December 9, 2008 to January 17, 2009 will go on sale Monday, October 20, 2008 at 10 a.m.  The pre-Broadway engagement of the international stage hit, produced by Jacobsen Entertainment in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions, will play at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.) through January 17, 2009 only before moving to The Boston Opera House.

Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage is a coming of age love story involving the talented and headstrong dancer Johnny Castle (JoseF Brown) and Frances "Baby" Houseman (Amanda Leigh Cobb). During her family's summer vacation at the popular Kellerman's resort, Baby, a doctor's daughter with dreams of joining the Peace Corps, meets Johnny, the guy from the wrong side of the tracks. Against all odds, they fall in love, learning life-changing lessons along the way. Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, follows the highs and lows of their summer romance.

Re-imagined for the stage, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, combines all the intensity and excitement of live theater with new songs, new scenes, and thrilling new dances. The production is an unprecedented live experience for lifelong fans of the film and new audiences alike that explodes with heart-pounding music, breathtaking emotion and sensationally sexy dancing.

The movie Dirty Dancing is a legendary entertainment phenomenon and the soundtrack continues to sell millions of copies. Including a cast of 39, the record-breaking show features the hit songs from the original soundtrack, including "Hungry Eyes," "Hey Baby," "Do You Love Me?" and the heart-stopping Academy Award-winning "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."

The acclaimed creative team responsible for the London and Toronto productions includes director James Powell, with choreography by Kate Champion. The team also includes: Stephen Brimson Lewis (set design), Jennifer Irwin (costume design), Tim Mitchell (lighting design), Bobby Aitken (sound design), Jon Driscoll (video and projection design), Craig Wilson (Latin and Ballroom dance choreographer), and Conrad Helfrich (musical supervisor).

Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage is now playing at the Cadillac Palace Theatre through January 17, 2009.  Performances are Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.  Please Note: There will be no performance on Wednesday, December 24 at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, December 25 at 7:30 p.m., or Thursday, January 1 at 7:30 p.m.  There will be additional performances Friday, December 26 at 2 p.m., Monday, December 29 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, January 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Individual tickets range in price from $35 - $100.  A limited number of premium tickets are available to all performances and range in price from $125 - $155.  Tickets to a new block of performances December 9, 2008 – January 17, 2009 go on-sale on Monday, October 20 at 10 a.m. and are available at Broadway In Chicago Box Offices (18 W Monroe, 24 W Randolph St and 151 W Randolph St), through the Broadway In Chicago Ticket Line at (312) 902-1400, at all Ticketmaster ticket centers (including all Hot Tix, select Carson Pirie Scott, Coconuts and fye stores) or online at Ticketmaster.com.  Groups of 20 or more should call (312) 977-1710.
