Collaboraction Sets The 13th Annual SKETCHBOOK Festival of New Works for 6/5-30

By:

For the past 12 years, Collaboraction has produced the annual SKETCHBOOK festival, a whirlwind showcase of world premiere theater pieces, each ranging from seven to 50 minutes in length and featuring a combination of established playwrights and up-and-coming new talents.

"The festival brings together more than 150 actors, visual artists, musicians, writers, directors, designers, and stagehands from all over the city to collaborate on this beautiful and ambitious undertaking," said Anthony Moseley, Founding Executive and Artistic Director of Collaboraction. "Many participants return year after year, drawn by the energy and passion that drives the festival forward. The event serves as an invaluable opportunity for both seasoned and emerging artists to connect and grow together, turning our theater into a hub of talented individuals working together toward the common goal of bringing a broad array of innovative art to a diverse audience."

This year's festival, SKETCHBOOK 13, is divided into four programs, which are complemented by visual art and live music to create a full-bodied experience of multidisciplinary work. Individual tickets can be purchased for specific programs, or patrons may opt for an All-Access Festival Pass which allows them to attend any and all programs.

SKETCHBOOK 13 will run June 5- 30, 2013 at Collaboraction on the 3rd floor of the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N. Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park. Press Opening is Sunday, June 9. On that date, all four programs will be performed in succession at 12pm, 2pm, 5pm, and 7pm.

Tickets are $25; $15 for students, educators and industry. All-Access Festival passes are $60/$40 for students and industry. Purchase tickets and All-Access passes online at collaboraction.org or call 312.226.9633.
