Chicago Street Theatre Presents MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, 10/8

By:

"The Man Who Came to Dinner" at Chicago Street Theatre may very well fit the bill. Packed full of laughs and a large cast, this three-act play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart promises to be a crowd-pleaser.

First performed in October 1939 at New York City's Music Box Theatre, the story is set in a small Ohio town in the 1930s a few weeks before Christmas. It features the famous, albeit outlandish, radio wit SheriDan Whiteside of New York City who has accepted an invitation to have dinner at the home of wealthy factory owner Ernest W. Stanley. Just before entering the Stanley home, Whiteside falls on the ice and injures his hip. The mishap confines him to a wheelchair for weeks at the Stanleys' home, much to the chagrin of those in his midst. It's not long before Whiteside, played hilariously by CST veteran David Pera, has long outstayed his welcome.

We hope you'll join us for this engaging comedy, which opens one week from today - October 8. Great seats are still available. Tickets may be purchased at our box office at 154 W.
