Cast Announced for LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT at Court Theatre This Spring

By:
Court Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Charles Newell and Executive Director Stephen J. Albert, presents Eugene O'Neill's, LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, directed by David Auburn. LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT runs March 10 - April 10, 2016 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue.

The cast of LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT includes Michael Doonan, Mary Beth Fisher, Alanna Rogers, Dan Waller and Harris Yulin.

Court Theatre is thrilled to deepen its relationship with playwright David Auburn as he directs one of the greatest plays penned in the twentieth century.

Aging patriarch James Tyrone has ascended from humble beginnings as an Irish American immigrant to build a legendary and lucrative career as an actor. A paragon of the American dream, James Tyrone, his wife Mary, and their two grown sons live together in their summer home in Connecticut. Beneath the shiny veneer of the Tyrone family's success, however, something is deeply and irreversibly amiss. As a once bright morning fades slowly into a dreary fog of evening, the characters crash together and pull apart inside a web of long-held suffering, buried secrets, and unspoken trauma. As powerful as it is poignant, Long Day's Journey into Night offers a searing depiction of a family as they struggle to heal themselves and forgive each other.

Tickets: $35-$45 previews; $45-$65 regular run. The Box Office is located at 5535 S. Ellis Avenue, Chicago or by calling (773) 753-4472 or visiting www.CourtTheatre.org.

Now in its 61st season, Court Theatre is guided by its mission to discover the power of classic theatre. Court endeavors to make a lasting contribution to American theatre by expanding the canon of translations, adaptations, and classic texts. Court revives lost masterpieces, illuminates familiar texts, and distinguishes fresh, modern classics.
