CHARLIE BROWN Joins Jenkins, Lippa et al. in Summer Music Theatre Festival, 7/1-8/8

By:

Northwestern University has added a revised version of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN to their Summer Music Theatre Festival. CHARLIE BROWN will be performed July 1 through August 8.

Also part of the festival is the previously announced musical tribute to Tony Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz performed by vocalists Capathia Jenkins ("Caroline, Or Change") and Shoshana Bean ("Wicked"), Tony-nominated composer and lyricist Craig Carnelia, Grammy Award-nominated composer and lyricist Andrew Lippa, and Grammy Award-winning Nashville singer and songwriter Lari White.

For the second year, the festival will kick off with a (June 10) "Summer Preview." Featuring "sneak peaks" of songs from 2010 summer festival productions and hosted by American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) Executive Director Dominic Missimi and theatre department Chair Rives Collins, the free event will include appearances by festival casts and creative teams.

Subscriptions for the festival are currently on sale and audiences may select from two different packages: the All-Inclusive Subscription, which includes all four events in the Festival Season, plus exclusive invitations to attend the 2010 Songwriters Showcase and the "Behind the Scenes with Stephen Schwartz" events; and the Three-Show Subscription, which includes the first three events in the Festival season. The Three-Show Subscription does not include the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project events.

All-Inclusive subscription pricing is $100 for the general public; $89 for seniors 65 and older, Northwestern faculty and staff and area educators and administrators; and $32 for full-time students. Three-Show subscription pricing is $68 for the general public; $61 for seniors 65 and older, Northwestern faculty and staff and area educators and administrators; and $25 for full-time students. Either package reflects a 20 percent discount on single ticket prices.

Subscriptions and single tickets to all productions may be purchased by phone through the Theatre and Interpretation Center Box Office at (847) 491-7282 or online at http://www.tic.northwestern.edu. Single tickets to all performances range in price from $10 to $40 and will go on sale May 25. Subscriptions are on sale now.
