Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to show off its newest jewel, the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, to the public by hosting a unique, excitement filled day of theater on Saturday, October 23 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. During this day, Broadway In Chicago will offer special tours of the Broadway Playhouse where the public can also catch the first glimpse of the first theatrical production occupying the stage of the new theatre, TRACES.

Saturday open house visitors will be treated to a special 15% community discount valid at any Macy's store. Broadway In Chicago will also hold a one-of-a-kind sale of theater memorabilia including theatre photos, show posters, vintage programs, street banners and other souvenirs. A portion of the proceeds from this unique, Broadway-inspired flea market will benefit Season of Concern.

"We look forward to enhancing the theater-going experience for residents and tourists in the area," said Lou Raizin, President of Broadway In Chicago. "The Broadway Playhouse is the perfect complement to the theatres that we own, program or operate including the Bank of America Theatre, the Cadillac Palace Theatre, the Ford Center for the Performing Arts / Oriental Theatre and the Auditorium Theatre. The Broadway Playhouse will allow us to attract shows that might not have previously come to Chicago and perhaps will give us the ability to encourage commercial transfers of successful productions from theatrical companies across Chicago."

TRACES combines extraordinary acrobatic feats, music, film, narration and dance. Seven performers deliver gravity-defying displays of skill that are fresh, urban and inventive. The cast's wide-ranging talent includes traditional Chinese acrobatics, balancing on each other's heads, tumbling through hoops and leaping spectacularly up giant poles without using their hands. Poetic and explosive, funny and thoughtful, TRACES creates an experience that will surprise and delight all ages. Individual tickets to TRACES are $50 - $71.50 and are currently on sale. Tickets are available at all Broadway In Chicago Box Offices (24 W. Randolph St., 151 W. Randolph St. and 18 W. Monroe St.); the Broadway In Chicago Ticket Line at (800) 775-2000; all Ticketmaster retail locations (including Hot Tix and select Carson Pirie Scott, Coconuts and fye stores); and online at www.BroadwayInChicago.com. Groups of 10 or more should call (312) 977-1710.

Broadway In Chicago was created in July 2000 and over the past ten years has grown to be one of the largest commercial touring homes in the country. A Nederlander Company, Broadway In Chicago lights up the Chicago Theater District entertaining well over a million people annually in 5 theatres. Broadway In Chicago presents a full range of entertainment, including musicals and plays, on the stages of five of the finest theatres in Chicago's Loop including the Bank of America Theatre, Ford Center for the Performing Arts/Oriental Theatre, Cadillac Palace Theatre, the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University and just off the Magnificent Mile, the new Broadway Playhouse. Broadway In Chicago is best known for attracting pre-Broadway productions, highlights of those include THE PRODUCERS, SPAMALOT, MOVIN' OUT and THE ADDAMS FAMILY as well as long-run engagements including WICKED, Disney's THE LION KING, Billy Elliot the Musical to name a few. In the words of Mayor Daley, "Broadway In Chicago is a leader in the Downtown Theatre District, and an economic engine that will keep our downtown alive and full of energy for years to come."
