Visitors and residents will again have the opportunity to sample the extraordinary range of theatrical offerings throughout Chicagoland. Chicago Theatre Week is presented by the League of Chicago Theatres with support from Choose Chicago.

THE PLAY
There are times in everyone's lives where the everyday becomes too much and we feel the urge to escape it all by running away. FUGITIVE SONGS is an innovative song cycle focusing on people who have given in to that desire and find themselves on the run, emotional baggage and all. These characters include a disgruntled Subway sandwich employee, a jilted ex-cheerleader, a pair of Patty Hearst fanatics, a stoner forced to rob a convenience store against his will, and many others. The award-winning writing team of Miller and Tysen blend traditional folk music with contemporary pop and gospel to create a moving portrait of restlessness in America.

THE PRODUCTION
"The journey of running away can teach us about who we are," says Artistic Director Peter Marston Sullivan. "Too often, we're not running from another person or a situation, we're running from ourselves and the hard choices we need to make. To me, it's when we realize why we're running and stop that we find true freedom." Following on the success of recent hits MYTHS & HYMNS and ORDINARY DAYS, BoHo presents FUGITIVE SONGS up close and personal in the intimate Heartland Studio. The production showcases an exciting mix of veteran BoHo talent and fresh faces in both the artistic team and the cast of adept musician performers.
