Three-time Grammy Award-nominated Afro-Cuban music group Tiempo Libre is one of the hottest Latin bands today. Equally at home in concert halls, jazz clubs, festival stages and dance venues, Tiempo Libre is celebrated for its sophisticated tropical music featuring an irresistible, exhilarating mix of jazz harmonies, contemporary sonorities and seductive Latin rhythms. With Bohemia, the band returns to their traditional Cuban roots and remains ambassadors for Cuban music around the world with appearances on shows such as the Tonight Show, Live from Lincoln Center and Dancing with the Stars.

Groundbreaking funk-metal group Living Colour rose to fame with its debut double-platinum album Vivid in 1988. Best remembered for their anthemic Grammy Award-winning single "Cult of Personality," which won "Best Hard Rock Performance" at the 1989 ceremony, they also scored hits with "Type," "Elvis is Dead" and "Love Rears Its Ugly Head" from the Grammy -winning album Time's Up. At City Winery Chicago, singer Corey Glover, guitarist Vernon Reid, bassist Doug Wimbish and drummer Will Calhoun will play their greatest hits and cuts from their upcoming sixth studio album, Shade due for release in September, 2017.

Six-time Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Art Garfunkel has made an indelible mark on the music world as both a solo artist and half of the unrivaled Simon & Garfunkel known for greatest hits such as "Mrs. Robinson," "The Sound Of Silence," "The Boxer" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water," among many others. In his current tour, Garfunkel performs a mix of these hits and works from his solo career to present an artful, moving, and lyrical memoir about the making of a musician, the evolution of a manand a portrait of a life-long friendship with Paul Simon that became one of the most successful musical collaborations of all time.

Those who have followed Ruthie Foster's eclectic musical career know that she can burn down any stage with her combustible blend of soul, blues, rock, folk and gospel. She came from humble church choir beginnings in rural Texas, followed by a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy Band, and ended up in Austin, Texas. Her list of achievements includes Best Female Vocalist in 2007, 2008 and 2013 from the Austin Music Awards, a 2012 and 2009 Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album, and recent Blues Music Award wins for Best Contemporary and Best Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year. Foster's most recent and Grammy-nominated CD, Let It Burn, is a deeply intimate recording featuring a smoky mix of original songs coupled with inventive interpretations of an unexpected collection of covers.

The Dayna Clay Band - UNPLUGGED: A Survivor's Story in Scenes & Songs - Book & Album Release Show

The Dayna Clay Band brings Paul McComas' acclaimed 2002 novel, UNPLUGGED to life on stage in an original alt-rock musical about Dayna Clay, a 27-year-old rock star, battling post-traumatic stress and depression in the wake of an abusive childhood. Featuring songs by McComas and Maya Kuper, UNPLUGGED: A Survivor's Story in Scenes & Songs chronicles Dayna's bumpy journey out of depression, through the South Dakota Badlands, and into self-discovery, healing, full embrace of her bisexuality, and love. All proceeds from the Dayna Clay Band's performances benefit the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)'s National Sexual Assault Hotline, as well as The Kennedy Forum, which works to eliminate the stigma of mental illness and enforce parity for behavioral healthcare.

Jackie Greene is the "G" in acoustic trio WRG with The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir and The Black Crowes' Chris Robinson, as well as a frequent member of Dead bassist Phil Lesh's touring ensemble Phil Lesh & Friends. He's also an original guitarist of supergroup Trigger Hippy with Joan Osborne and Crowes drummer Steve Gorman. Anders Osborne has toured virtually non-stop, either with his own band, as a solo artist, or as a guest with Toots and The Maytals, Stanton Moore, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Keb Mo, The Grateful Dead's Phil Lesh, Jackie Greene and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. For Greene and Osborn, impromptu "jamming" is second nature, so they've ditched their bands for some stripped down acoustic performances, each taking a turn with one of their songs with accompaniment from the other.

City Winery Chicago also announces DJ Audio Jack opens for Dirty Dozen Brass Band (Jun. 22); Milton opens for Chris Smither (Jul. 28); and Dayna Kurtz opens for Madeleine Peyroux (Sep. 24-25); All City Winery events are open to all ages and start at 8 p.m., unless noted.


Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, June 22 at noon. Opened in 2012, City Winery Chicago is a fully operational winery, restaurant with outdoor patio, concert hall and private event space located in the heart of the West Loop at 1200 W. Randolph, in the historic urban Fulton Market district. Once a refrigerated food distribution warehouse, the 1911 building has been transformed into a contemporary 33,000 square foot haven for those passionate about wine, music and culinary arts. The décor evokes the romance of being in wine country, from the exposed stainless steel fermenting tanks and French oak barrels, to the aroma of fermenting grapes. Chicago's only fully operation winery has produced dozens of in-house wines sourced from vineyards in California, Oregon, Washington, Argentina and Chile, including a Wine Enthusiast 92-point 2015 Verna's Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir.
