Akvavit Theatre will present Swedish playwright Sofia Fredén's dark comedy HAND IN HAND, in a world premiere translation by company member Chad Eric Bergman* and directed by company member Breahan Eve Pautsch*. HAND IN HAND will play September 14 - October 16, 2016 at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Tickets go on sale Monday, August 1, 2016 at brownpapertickets.com. The press opening is Thursday, September 15 at 7:30 pm.

HAND IN HAND will feature company member Derik Iverson* with Scottie Caldwell, Kamille Dawkins, Todd Michael Kiech, Jae K. Renfrow and Johnard Washington.

In this madcap black comedy from Sweden, six accidental roommates struggle to find money, love and - hardest of all - their own apartment in Stockholm. Each works hard to manipulate the system in their own ways, but all of them are willing to go to extreme lengths to find a place (or person) to call home. They look for shelter in the wilderness, the bedroom, and, - in their most desperate moments - the government. As the characters lives spiral hilariously and disastrously out of control, they discover just how painstakingly high the cost of living really can be.
