Fall classes begin Monday 9/29! 
 
On Monday, The Mime Company begins a new semester of classes for performers in Chicago. Register by 12:00pm on 9/29 to reserve a space in this specialized course in mime for theater professionals.
 
ACTING FROM THE NECK DOWN
(For actors/performers) Create original plays, explore comic and dramatic styles, develop physical illusion, learn practical pantomime and physical theater techniques. Playwrights, improvisers, educators and directors will explore mime as an effective tool for creating original theater.
 
*Mondays from 7:30 to 9:00pm, Sept. 29 - Dec. 8
(10 sessions) $172 
 
 
About the Instructor: Amanda Brown is the Co-Artistic Director of The Mime Company. As a writer and performer of mime, Amanda's work has been presented at professional and educational symposia, regional theaters and festivals throughout the US and abroad since 1998, including the American Alliance for Theater and Education, the Chicago Humanities Festival and the International Theatre Festival in Avignon, France . Amanda also conducts an extensive program of educational outreach and professional development for educators in the art of mime, including seminars for the CPS Community Partnerships Program. She holds a BS in Theater from Northwestern University, where she has since conducted courses in movement for actors and beginning and advanced courses in the art of mime for theater undergraduates.
