A DOG'S HOUSE to Open at Ego Death Theatre Collective in Chicago

Chicago's Ego Death Theatre Collective will present A Dog's House, a shockingly funny examination of what happens when someone we love commits an unthinkable act from May 29th through June 14th at Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago.
Director Carol Kelleher says "A Dog's House asks us to examine what lengths we'll go to keep the peace, and how that moral compromise can be a crime of violence in and of itself. It's dark themes are balanced out by biting humor that hits you like a shock of icy water, and I can't wait to play with that contrast."
When Eden and Michael become accessories to murder, they face a crisis that is compounded by the fact that the murderer is their pet Rottweiler, and the victim is their neighbor's Toy Poodle. As they try to reckon with the bloodshed, this act of violence threatens to maim their relationship in the process. A play about instincts, commitment, and what happens when unconditional love stops being unconditional.
The production features Jack Hradecky, Kaitlyn Gorman, James Lewis, and Hattie Hodes. The creative team includes Carol Kelleher (director), Nathan Stark (scenic design), Sam Bessler (lighting design), Jason Pavlovich (sound design), Alex Kulak ( props design), and Ash Hoople (costume design).

Ego Death Theatre Collective is an emerging theatrical ensemble deeply committed to honesty, community, and, above all, playing boldly. In the tradition of other Off-Loop Chicago storefront theaters, its journey began in a church basement, but the Collective are now residents at the Greenhouse Theater Center.
