10 on Tuesday with THE SOUND OF MUSIC's Keslie Ward

As Liesel in the national tour of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Keslie Ward's character might only be 16 going on 17, but Ward had no problem answering our rapid-fire, 10 on Tuesday. Here's what she had to say:

1) Show you first auditioned for (and did you get the part)? I think it was for a kid ensemble in Annie Get Your Gun? But the first part that I auditioned for [and got the part] was Adelaide in Guys and Dolls.

2) Where are you originally from? Garland, Texas.

3) When did you know you wanted a career on the stage? When I saw my first show on Broadway, which was Hairspray. It was an experience that I'll never forget. I thought to myself "Oh, yep. I want to do that for the rest of my life."

4) What's your dream role/production? Molly Aster in Peter and The Starcatcher

10 on Tuesday with THE SOUND OF MUSIC's Keslie Ward 5) Favorite post-performance haunt? In Vancouver, Canada, there was this bakery on our walk home called Breka that had AMAZING sweet treats. It was also open 24 hours. #dangerous

6) Living or dead, who would you drop everything to see perform? Judy Garland

7) What's your guilty pleasure/vice? The Real Housewives on Bravo TV.

8) What do you value most about acting? I value how it brings people together, how it helps you grow, and how being in the arts can change lives. It's the most fulfilling job, and I can't imagine doing anything else.

9) What is the one song you never want to hear again at an audition? I'm never really behind the table at auditions, but if I were I would say "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie.

10) Fill in the blank: "The thing I'd never change about theatre is..." ...the people that I've met and will meet along the way.

Keslie Ward appears in THE SOUND OF MUSIC through April 15 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph. Tickets $18-$85. 800.775.2000
