Footloose is a stage adaptation of the 1984 film, set to anthems including "Holding Out for a Hero," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," and "Footloose," telling the story of Ren McCormack, who arrives in Bomont, Texas and inspires a community to reclaim its rhythm through music and dance. The production stars JJ Niemann (Hamilton, Back to the Future: The Musical, The Book of Mormon), Jared Goldsmith (Dear Evan Hansen), and Nicole Powell (Ragtime, Hairspray), with Saige Smith as Ariel Moore and Scott Treadway as Rev. Shaw Moore. The production is directed by Ethan Andersen, with choreography by Candi Boyd and musical direction by Nathan Trivers. The stage adaptation is by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, with music by Tom Snow and lyrics by Dean Pitchford.
