DSI Comedy Theater kicks off Thanksgiving week with an appearance by the Ladies of Totally Biased with W Kamau Bell. The three women, Janine Brito, Aparna Nancherla, and Eliza Skinner, all writers and correspondents for the show, are heading to The Triangle for one-night only to show audiences why they are three of the freshest voices in comedy today. They take the stage at 9 p.m. Saturday, November 23. Tickets cost $10 and are available online at www.dsicomedy.com. All shows take place at DSI Comedy Theater, 200 N. Greensboro Street, located in the Carr Mill Mall between Elmo's and Southern Rail.

Janine Brito, Aparna Nancherla, and Eliza Skinner are all writers and correspondents for Totally Biased with W Kamau Bell, a show on FXX that is produced by Chris Rock. They are known for their irreverent and edgy stand-up comedy.

Janine Brito started doing comedy in St. Louis and has performed at clubs and theaters throughout the US and Hong Kong. Praised by 7x7 Magazine as "one of San Francisco's more daring voices" and one of "the 7 funniest people in town," she was named the 2011 "Best Comedian with a Message" by the East Bay Express. Her recent festival appearances include Sketchfest, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

Aparna Nancherla returns to North Carolina for this show. She is a rising stand-up comic who has made regular appearances at the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. After performing for Eddie Brill at an NCCAF a few years ago, she earned a slot in the Great American Comedy Festival in Johnny Carson's hometown. Her comedic goggles are dry and observational, and her act is sprinkled with absurdist wit and a whimsical take on the world. She recently made her national late night television debut on Conan and made history as the first Indian woman to perform stand-up on that medium.

Her credits include Conan, LA Weekly's "12 Comedy Acts to Watch", Serial Optimist's "10 Comics You Must Know", Splitsider's "10 Up-and-Coming Comedians on Each Coast", 2013 New Face at the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, the WTF Podcast with Marc Maron, the Nerdist Podcast with Chris Hardwick, Last Comic Standing, SXSW, NPR, Laughspin, Funny or Die, Reader's Digest, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post Magazine, TimeOut NY, and Slate V.

Eliza Skinner has written for Showtime, Xbox, and Joan Rivers' Fashion Police. She has performed all over the country including SXSW, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and the New York Comedy Festival. She also opened for Patton Oswalt and Bobcat Goldthwait. Eliza was a principal lead in Eugene Mirman's Comedy Central pilot, EUGENE!, and she has portrayed nasty white ladies on stage (Jem! A Truly Outrageous Parody), film (Last of the Great Romantics), and TV (TBS's Are We There Yet?). Her solo show, Eliza Skinner is: SHAMELESS ran for over a year at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York and Los Angeles, and at the Comedy Central Stage in LA. She has written and directed numerous digital shorts which have quickly become viral favorites on Funny Or Die and College Humor. She is a member of the UCB LA weekend house team Diamond Lion.

"We are thrilled to showcase these talented women on our stage. They represent some of the best rising talents in comedy today," said Zach Ward, Executive Producer of DSI Comedy Theater. "We are especially thrilled to have Aparna return to our stage. We have watched her grow into a formidable late night writer who just had her national stand-up comedy television debut and made history doing so."
