by Courtnie Mele - Central Pennsylvania
(07/02/2014) - York Little Theatre will give a new meaning to "going green" as they present the musical comedy SHREK the Musical, July 18-20 and 24-27. The musical will transport audiences to a faraway kingdom that is turned upside down. Things get ugly when an unseemly ogre -not a handsome prince- shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Add a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and the result is a big mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand...and his name is Shrek. Based on the Oscar winning DreamWorks film that started it all, SHREK the Musical brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to life on stage, teaching the lesson : being different is what makes us special.
