The Capital 10-Miler: A Run for the Arts, Returns to Harrisburg

The Capital 10-Miler: A Run for the Arts, returns to Harrisburg for its 8th consecutive year.

The run, which has benefited dozens of Capital-area arts organizations over the years, will take place on March 31. The event will start and finish on City Island, with the course including the riverfront, Capital Area Greenbelt, and the scenic bridges over the Susquehanna.

The local arts organizations that will participate this year include Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Market Square Concerts, Open Stage of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Regional Ballet, Susquehanna Folk Music Society and The Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. Registrants over the years have included runners from several Mid-Atlantic and New England states as well as local and regional participants. Runners both local and otherwise view the to the Capital 10-Miler as a carefully constructed event with a great course, and hundreds are already registered for the run this weekend.

On the day of the Race, Packet Pickup & Registration takes place from 7:00 - 8:45am at the Carousel Pavilion on City Island. Walkers will start at 8:15 a.m. with runners start at 9 a.m.

$100 cash prize money will go to the first male/female finishers, with various other awards going to other age groups, teams and categories.
