Rabbit Hole, the Pulitzer Prize winning play written by David Lindsay-Abaire, will be performed by Millersville University Theatre, February 19 - 28, 2016, at Dutcher Hall on Millersville University's campus. Premiering on Broadway in 2006, Rabbit Hole has achieved great success with its sensitive portrayal of raw human emotions in the wake of family tragedy. This extraordinary play is perhaps best known as its major film adaptation starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart.

Rabbit Hole tells the story of two parents overcoming the death of their child, in ways both dramatic and comedic, honestly demonstrating grief, resolution, survival, and hope. Simplicity is a crucial component in the play's presentation, with everyday conversations, minor theatrical touches, and subtle time passages.

According to the Star-Ledger, the play is "a perceptive and poignant study in the day-to-day aches of bereavement: problems with personal intimacy, the uneasy friends who don't call, the emptiness in a house packed with reminders... Heartbreaking in its theme and details, Rabbit Hole is a beautifully crafted work of great sensitivity."

Rabbit Hole has received a vast array of accolades, including four Tony nominations: for Best Play, Best Direction, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for Tyne Daly, and Best Scenic Design. Cynthia Nixon won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play for her performance as Becca in the Broadway production.

Performances on February 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27 begin at 8 PM. Performances on February 21 and 28 begin at 2 PM.
