Millbrook Playhouse to Present Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID

Millbrook Playhouse gets ready to make a splash with Disney's The Little Mermaid opening July 8 through July 23, 2016. This classic tale will have everyone longing to be under the sea with such classic songs as "Kiss the Girl," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and the Academy Award-Winning best original song "Under the Sea".

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home, and her tail. behind and live in the world above. But first she must defy her father, King Triton, and make a deal with her Aunt, the evil sea witch Ursula. With some help from her friends, Sebastian the Crab, Flounder the guppy, and a myriad of other birds and fish, she must get Prince Eric to kiss her before the third sundown or else. Returning for her second season Courtney Laine Self serves as Director and Choreographer. Her previous Millbrook credits include director and choreographer for Mary Poppins, and choreographer for the regional premiere of My Vaudeville Man. The production's Musical Director and Conductor is Justin Adams, leading a 12 piece orchestra.

The cast is led by Christina Kidd as Ariel, Christian Lane Green as Prince Eric, Shannon Agnew as Ursula, Kyle Blocker as Sebastian, Christopher Lee Viljoen as King Triton, Matt Spencer as Skuttle, Ryan Lauer as Flotsam, Kali Haines as Jetsam, Jeffrey Hyman as Grimsby, David Groccia as Chef Louis, also features local child actors Madi Meeker and Elaina Shaffer as Flounder. The cast includes: Alex Beard, Chas Conacher, Jenna Miller, Isabel Nesti, Sammi Sadicario, Elizabeth Shaffer, and Rachel Marie Snyder. The local teen and children ensemble features Brianna Bottorf, Kendall Eichenlaub, Izyah Gerlach, Megan Hamaty, Olivia Hanna, Aimee Hunsinger, Ari Newlen, Ivy Patterson, Meghann Reeder, and Gabrielle Weave.

Disney's The Little Mermaid featuring music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, book by Doug Wright. Set Design by Joshua E. Gallagher, Costume Design by Sydney Moore, Lighting Design by Ethan Vail, Props and Puppet Design by Stephen M. Cyr, and Sound Design by Alex Wolf.

Don't miss everyone's favorite family musical at Millbrook Playhouse in the Ryan Main Stage. The Little Mermaid runs July 8-9, 13-16, 21-22 at 7:30pm and July 10, 13, 17, 20, 23 at 2:00pm. Premium Seating tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for students and $10 for children. Budget Seating tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for students, $8 for children. Group rates are available.
