On the eve of Women's History Month in March, Hershey Area Playhouse is proud to present The Vagina Monologues, a revealing and eye-opening play showcasing the joys and sorrow of being a woman.

Written by Eve Ensler, The Vagina Monologues oscillates from hilarious to horrifying. It is both uproarious and disquieting, but always truthful in its message about women and their experiences involving their lady parts. There are several stories presented in monologues, featuring viewpoints of women of all ages and races, and pieces that have not been in previous versions of the show.

Jennifer Feldser, director of V-Day Hershey, is participating in her eighth V-Day show, performing in the Monologues seven of those times. "After participating in this show all four years at Bloomsburg University, I brought it home to Hershey in 2009 because the subject matter of Eve Ensler's work needs to be heard everywhere," said Feldser. "Her words empower the women who speak them and enrich the audiences who experience it."

Cast members include: Tracy Batug, Madeline Barber, Amy Jo Brixius, Laura Birkin, Jennifer Feldser, Renee Howard, Tanya Leshko, Wendy Lubell, Aleax Olivera, Jenny Piper, Carol Purdom, Kate Ramsey, Micaela Sisco, Valerie Schrader, Rita Smith, Kelly Strange, Stephanie Trdenic, Patti Uhrich, and Christiana Varner.

Performances will be held the weekend of February 27, 2015 at the Playhouse. Tickets are $20 and are available by visiting www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com or by calling the Playhouse's box office at 717-533-8525. Performance proceeds will benefit the Playhouse, the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg, and the charity specified by the V-Day organization.
