Gretna Theatre to Make NYC Trip to EVITA, 8/25

Producing artistic director Larry Frenock announced a Gretna Theatre Broadway Bus Trip to New York City to see the Broadway revival of "Evita" and meet members of the cast who have previously appeared at Gretna Theatre for dinner after the show.

Timothy Shew, who starred in Gretna Theatre's productions of "Shenandoah" and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," and Brad Little, who starred in the summer theatre's "A Little Night Music," are both performing in the current hit Broadway production of "Evita" starring Ricky Martin, Elena Roger and Michael Serveris. The Gretna Theatre Broadway Bus Trip will depart from the Mt. Gretna parking lot on Saturday, August 25th at 9:30 a.m. Escorted by Larry Frenock and Gretna Theatre's associate artistic director Renee Krizan, the excursion will feature coffee and donuts pre-boarding, non-stop luxury motorcoach between Mt. Gretna and New York City, free time before the show for sightseeing or lunch on your own, the first three rows of the front mezzanine seating for the 2:00 p.m. performance of "Evita" at the Marquis Theatre, dinner immediately afterward at John's Pizzeria with a menu including garlic bread & house salad, a variety of John's brick oven pizzas and calzones, Italian cookies and soda by the pitcher in a truly unique setting. The bus will drop off and pick up at 41st street and Bryant Park in New York and return to Mt. Gretna at approximately 10:00 p.m. The all-inclusive price for this exciting outing is $245.00 per person. Previous Gretna Theatre Broadway bus trips have sold out including last spring's trip to see "Ghost, the Musical" and last year's "Jersey Boys."

Timothy Shew has appeared on Broadway with Brooke Shields in "Wonderful Town," starred as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables," originated the role of St. Cyr in "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and has enjoyed roles in "Disney's King David," "Whistle Down the Wind," "Sunset Boulevard," "Guys and Dolls," "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" as Santa Claus, and most recently on Broadway as the Mayor in "Bye, Bye Birdie."

Brad Little is particularly known for having been one of the longest running Phantoms ever in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway as well as having played Raoul in the same production.

He has also played in "Cyrano, the Musical" as Cpt. De Castel Jaloux, in "Fiddler on the Roof" and as Billy Crocker in "Anything Goes." Both actors have performed across the country and around the world.

Gretna Theatre is a not-for-profit professional summer theatre company celebrating its 85th Anniversary season this year. They produce plays and musicals at the Mt.
