EPAC Presents AGNES OF GOD, 6/12-28
Before Dan Brown began writing his provocative thriller The DaVinci Code, there was the stage play Agnes of God. Now this masterful piece of theatrical mysticism, directed by EPAC First Time Director John Gancar makes its way to EPAC's Sharadin Bigler Theatre June 12-28.
Both The DaVinci Code and Agnes of God explore the nature of God's power on earth but it is Agnes, which is believed to be based on the real story of Sister Maureen Murphy that takes a more humanistic approach.
Dr. Martha Livingstone, played by Meagan Gagnon is asked to assess the sanity of Agnes, who is accused of murdering her newborn child within the monastery walls. EPAC veteran Robin Payne plays Mother Miriam Ruth who is determined to protect Agnes, portrayed by Juliana Wardle from further sin while fighting for the future of her abbey.
Who committed this heinous crime, and will science or faith prevail?
