She's discussing the M.O. behind The Firewatcher's Daughter, her stunning new release - her first for artist-friendly indie label ATO. The 12-song collection marks a triumphant return after a three-year recording hiatus, and her strongest, most rock & roll album to date.
A critically acclaimed Seattle folk/Americana singer, Brandi Carlile's 2014 album The Firewatcher's Daughter is her highest charting album to date and received her first-ever GRAMMY nomination for 'Best Americana Album'. The Firewatcher's Daughter also reached the top 10 in the Billboard 200 and reached #1 on the Rock album chart, #1 on the Independent album chart and #9 on the Billboard 200.
Brandi held headlining performances after the release of The Firewatcher's Daughter in many historic places including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Radio City Music Hall, the Ryman Auditorium and the studios of the Tonight Show, Today Show, Conan, CBS Saturday Morning and Tavis Smiley.
In the spring and summer of 2016 Brandi will embark on select arena dates with The Avett Brothers including NYC's Madison Square Garden and a co-headlining run with Americana folk legends and ATO label mates Old Crow Medicine Show.
