Belmont Theatre Goes INTO THE WOODS The Belmont Theatre will produce the musical "Into the Woods" on their main stage February 16-18 & 22-25. Experience the music of Stephen Sondheim as a witch tasks a childless baker and his wife with finding magical items to reverse the curse put on their family tree. They encounter a variety of fairytale characters whose wishes seem to come true by the end of Act One. Cinderella marries the prince, Jack's cow produces milk, and the baker and his wife now have a child...The consequences of their actions return to haunt them in Act Two with disastrous results as a giant enters the story and they try to unravel their now twisted fairytales. The musical won multiple Tony awards including Stephen Sondheim for best score and James Lapine for best book.

The show is directed by Rene Staub with music direction by Matthew Schriver. Stage Manager is Scott Carter. Costume design is by Cory Holtzman. Lighting Design is by Judi Miller. Nik Olson plays the role of the Baker. Sara Pugh plays the Baker's Wife. Julia Tighe-Howie plays the role of the Witch. Katie Vohs plays Little Red Riding Hood, Nicole Dzyrzinski plays Cinderella, Jacob Schmitt plays Jack, Christine Emig plays Jack's Mother, Ashley Dzyrzinski plays Rapunzel, Doug Eppler plays the Narrator and Mysterious Man, Mike McGuiness plays Cinderella's Prince and the Wolf, Eric Hartman plays Rapunzel's Prince, Sarah Gotwols plays Cinderella's Mother, Granny, and the Giant, Robert Eisenhour plays Cinderella's Father, Joshua Boyer plays the Steward, Rebecca Schrom plays the Stepmother, Taylor Whitney plays stepsister Lucinda and Samantha Fowler plays stepsister Florinda.

The show is sponsored by York Traditions Bank. The show's supporting sponsor is GLATFELTER.The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m Fridays and Saturdays and the second Thursday. Sunday matinee's begin at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are available online at www.thebelmont.org, by calling the box office at 717-854-5715 Monday through Friday, or at the door, if available. There is a senior citizen discount and group sales are available. The theatre is located just off of I-83 with free parking.
