Alpha/Omega Players to Present AVENUE Q, Begin. 3/28

By:

The Alpha/Omega Players will present the winner of the 2004 Tony Award triple crown "Best Musical" "Best Book" "Best Score" AVENUE Q, March 28, 29 April 4,5 @ 8 pm and March 30 & April 6 @ 3 pm in the Alpha/Omega Performing Arts Center, 301 E. First Street, Birdsboro, PA 19508.

AVENUE Q is the smash-hit Broadway musical about real life in New York City, as told by a cast of people and puppets through a hilariously irreverent,
Tony-winning book and score.

AVENUE Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who moves to NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable relationship, and a "purpose." Eventually, Princeton learns to embrace the ups and downs of city life and realizes that "the real world" isn't so bad, after all!

AVENUE Q features music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx; and is directed by Jason Moore; puppet design by Rick Lyon, musical supervision by Stephen Oremus, choreography by Ken Roberson, scenic design by Anna Louizos, costume design by Mirena Rada, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Acme Sound Partners.

The Players production stars Sean Deffley as Princeton and Rod, Emily Kuhns as Kate Monster, Alexander P. Bannon as Nicky and Trekkie Monster, Heidi Carletti as Lucy the Slut, Julie Kellar as Christmas Eve, Stephen Barszowski as Brian, James Barksdale as Gary Coleman, Melissa Kauffmann as Mrs T/Puppet handler, Amy Swartz and Gordon Joyner as the Bad Idea Bears.

The Alpha/Omega production is under the direction of Mark A. Drey with choreography by Melissa Kauffmann.

Due to adult situations (like full-puppet nudity), AVENUE Q may be inappropriate for kids. Parental guidance is advised.
