Martha Redbone and Aaron Whitby will present a work-in-progress showing of their new theater project, Conversations, at the Ancram Center for the Arts on August 4. Drawing from intimate discussions with Native American elders, the piece transforms their stories into songs and dramatic vignettes. Redbone, known for her unique blend of roots music, combines personal narratives and cultural insights in this innovative creation, supported by The Civilians during Ancram’s Summer Play Lab program. This collaborative project seeks to highlight the often unheard perspectives of elders in today's world.
