HUDSON STAGE will produce TALLEY'S FOLLY this spring.

Venue for all events: Woodward Hall Theatre, Pace University, 235 Elm Road, Briarcliff Manor.

The HSC spring mainstage production is a tribute to the late, great Lanford Wilson, a revival of the Pulitzer Prize-winning timeless romantic comedy, TALLEY'S FOLLY. Producers Denise Bessette, Dan Foster and Olivia Sklar have chosen to honor this prolific writer considered to be one of the country's most gifted and commercially successful playwrights of all time. "We wanted to present this as a gift to our audiences. We've been trying to get the rights for some time and gratefully now we have a chance to share this rare jewel." Dan Foster, who most recently helmed the company's most popular production to date, God of Carnage, will direct.

The play is set on the 4th of July near the end of WWII at the Talley family's moonlit boathouse in rural Missouri. Sally Talley, the "spinster" daughter at 31 of this prominent local family, is being courted by an unlikely suitor in Matt Friedman, a Jewish accountant from St. Louis. Both are pitiful yet glorious human beings, clumsily finding their way toward each other in what may be their only chance for happiness.

When: Previews Friday, April 27th . Opens Sat. April 28th, runs three weekends through May 12th.
Tickets available through Smarttix. $35 general admission, $30 students/seniors. Group rates available. Pace discount.

The winter/spring season leads off with a staged reading on Friday, February 10th at 7:30 of the new play RAISING JO by Charlotte Miller, directed by one of the theatre's most highly respected directors and resident of Croton, Evan Yionoulis. A tightly woven genre-defying story of contemporary relationships from this exciting young writer, featured in Rattlestick Theatre's F@#$ing Good Plays Festival and at PlayPenn in Philadelphia.

$10 door donation.

Q&A to follow the reading with all the participating artists.

Following the play reading will be the annual YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL, in collaboration with Briarcliff High School I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT MEMORIZED! Thursday, March 22nd at 7:30pm. An evening of one-acts written, directed and performed by Briarcliff students. "This is a real treat for us to witness each year the incredible work that comes out of these talented students, under the mentorship of their teachers. We'd like to see the program expand to other Westchester area high schools that are interested and invite them to attend and see what's possible", co-producer Denise Bessette. Venue and admission: same as above.
