Adirondack Shakespeare Company's third annual Summer Festival Season is coming to a close, but there's still a few more chances to catch Shakespeare in the RAW in Adirondack Park. The company has announced that the final performances of their mainstage and touring shows will be held at Lake Placid Center for the Arts.

"We've had a terrific summer and we're thrilled to be bringing these shows to the Lake Placid community," says Tara Bradway, the company's Artistic Director. "The LPCA is an incredible space, and it's a treat for us to perform there. We can't think of a better place to finish off this season."

The company's ambitious lineup includes Shakespeare's Hamlet and Twelfth Night, as well as Tom Stoppard's modern comedy, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and The Twelve Labors of Hercules, an original children's show by Jessica Hackett. Each show is given new life through the company's unique IN THE RAW performance style.

The company's performance style is designed to encourage the spontaneity of theater. Described as a "head first, no-safety-net dive into Shakespeare," this approach strips away the extraneous elements from production, leaving nothing but the actors, the audience and the words. The goal is for the actors to let the audience in on the experience of discovering a play for the very first time. This year, The Acting Company includes Tara Bradway, Mitchell Conway, Ross Hamman, Daniel Jimenez, Julia Jones, Collin McConnell, Shannon Pritchard, Rachel Ritacco, Patrick Siler, Lindsay Tanner, Aaron White and Kim Wong.

ADK Shakes will arrive in Lake Placid on Wednesday, August 15th for a 10:30AM performance of Hercules at Lake Placid Center for the Arts. The company will be at LPCA through Saturday, with performances of Twelfth Night on the 16th and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead on the 17th. Finally, ADK Shakes will end their third summer season with a performance of Hamlet on the 18th. All mainstage performances will be held at the LPCA at 7:30PM.
