AMÉLIE the Musical To Be Presented At Theatre444
The folk-inspired musical will be staged at the Geneva Community Center, directed by artistic director Pam Rapoza
Theatre444 has announced its upcoming production of Amélie, the whimsical musical based on the beloved 2001 Academy Award-nominated French film., with music by Daniel Mess and lyrics by Nathan Tysen & Daniel Messe.
Opening this June, Amélie tells the story of a shy, eccentric young woman who perceives the world in extraordinary ways. Living quietly in Paris, Amélie finds her calling when she begins orchestrating small, secret acts of kindness for those around her. However, when a chance encounter with a mysterious stranger offers a glimpse at love, Amélie must decide if she will risk her own isolation to find her own happiness.
True to Theatre444's reputation for producing works that serve as mirrors of the human experience, this production promises to be a vibrant, sensory journey. Featuring a lush, folk-inspired score, the musical captures the heart of the original film while adding a unique theatrical depth that explores connection, imagination, and the courage it takes to be truly seen.
"We are thrilled to bring this beautiful, quirky, and deeply moving story to our stage," says Pam Rapoza, Artistic Director. "Amélie reminds us that even the smallest gesture can change a life, making it the perfect piece to celebrate the community and art that define our company."
