The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition

The Carrollwood Cultural Center in Tampa, Florida runs summer intensives for older youth alongside its day camps for ages 4 to 10. In the youth intensive program, campers ages 11 to 13 use a theme as inspiration for developing their own staged production, while teens ages 14 to 16 expand beyond performance to explore lighting and sound design and create their own shows. The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition, which followed Dorothy and Toto along the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City, was the 2025 intensive production and ran June 2-20, 2025 in partnership with Hat Trick Theatre Productions. As of this review the center had left its 2025 camp and intensive information online as a preview of what the 2026 programs will look like, and had not yet published 2026 titles, dates or fees. The center is a nonprofit run in partnership with Hillsborough County.

The intensive program is now presented for ages 11-16 rather than 11-13; teens 14-16 also work on lighting and sound design. The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition was the 2025 title and no 2026 show or dates had been posted at the time of review.
